Bighead knapweed
Centaurea macrocephala

Perrennial. 1 to 1.20 meters tall, does not need to be staked. Large, mini-pineapple-shaped inflorescences with bright yellow blooms in July and August. Interesting for pollinators. Makes beautiful cut flowers. Does not bloom the first year. Hardiness zone 3.

Full sun, part shade. Well drained soil. Rich or poor soil. Indoor sowing in March, April or direct sowing in May, June. 5 mm deep.

Germination: 86% in December 2023
