Bluehead gilia
Gilia capitata
Annual. Lavender blue flowers in the form of small balls on stems from 30 to 60 cm high. Greatly attracts bees, bumblebees and butterflies. Long flowering from July until frost. Sow in groups or in mixtures with other flowers. Native to the west coast of North America. Re-seeds itself.
Full sun or part shade, dry, rich or poor soil. Direct sowing in May in a well prepared soil. 6mm deep.
Germination: 80% in November 2023
Ecological tubers produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.
