Chimayo hot pepper
Capsicum annuum
Hot pepper native to the Chimayo region of New Mexico. Green becoming red, conical, 10 to 15 cm long. Heat rating of 4 on the Scoville scale. Dries easily and makes an excellent paprika. Very productive plant of 60 to 80 cm height. Heirloom variety. 75 days to maturity.
Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors 8 to 12 weeks before the last frost. 40 cm between plants.
Germination: 79% in November 2024
