Mixed mustards
Brassica juncea
Annual. A colorful mix of oriental mustards. Spicy flavor. Use the young leaves for sandwiches, soups, stir-fries or pestos. The seeds, once roasted, have a nutty flavor. They are used as a spice for marinades and can also be used to make mustard. Re-seeds itself. Also called brown mustards, Indian mustards or Chinese mustards.
Direct sowing in May, June. Sow in August for fall production. 6 mm deep and 15 cm apart.
Germination: 90% in November 2024
