Cucurbita pepo
Creamy white acorn squash. Excellent flavor. Early and productive. Long shelf life. Runner variety, creeping plant of 2 meters and more. Heirloom variety preserved in the family of Thelma Sanders in Adair County, Missouri (USA). 85 days to maturity.
Full sun, rich and well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 2 to 5 weeks before. Protect young plants from insects at the beggining of the season. 2 cm deep. 60 cm between plants.
Germination: 99% in December 2025

J’adore cette courge! Petit format le fun pour 2 personnes. Bonne courge pour s’initier, elle rappelle un peu la patate douce en texture et en goût. Super pour cuisiner du pain ou des pâtisseries puisque sa texture est peu fibreuse!

Cette courge a un goût délicat et fort agréable. Elle est extrêmement productive, avec une moyenne de 10 fruits par plant ! Sa pelure tendre se mange, et au début janvier il me reste plusieurs fruits encore parfaitement bien conservés ! Les fruits cueillis de couleur beige et tachetés semblent mieux se conserver que ceux que j’ai récoltés blanc. Je prévois la cultiver encore l’an prochain.
