Oxeye daisy
Leucanthemum vulgare

Perennial, sometimes biennial. Medicinal, nectariferous and edible plant. 50 to 80 cm high. Single white flower with yellow heart. The young, peppery leaves can be eaten raw, cooked or dried. Flower buds can be pickled. Does not bloom the first year. Can become invasive. Hardiness zone 4.

Full sun to part shade. Well drained soil. Sow indoors in late March and transplant in early June. Or direct sowing from May to July. Sow on the surface. 20 cm between plants.

Germination: 80% in November 2025
