Sunset’s Red Horizon tomato

Large red oxheart tomato with exceptional flavour. The tomato that haunts our dreams in winter. Very fleshy, 8 to 15 cm in diameter. Few seeds. Vigorous, productive 2-meter high plants. Good resistance to cold at the end of the season. Originally from Russia. Indeterminate. 75 days to maturity.

Full sun, well-drained, rich soil. Sow indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost. 5 mm deep. 60 cm between plants.

A 2013 favorite, this is a tomato that needs a little more love than others. It needs a good, well-ventilated spot, rich soil and, above all, full sun. And it’s not because they’re more fragile than others, but rather because they consume a lot of energy! To avoid deficiencies, we add compost and fertilizer towards the middle of the season. Two shovelfuls of manure rather than one in the transplant hole. The plants are big and strong and resist the first light frosts very well.
