Bean Tabacchino
Phaseolus vulgaris
Bush dry bean. Plant 50 cm tall. Small, oval, dark beige seeds when ripe. Mild, sweet flavour, thin skin that cooks quickly. Perfect for soups. Harvest fresh shell or dry. Native to southern Italy, this is one of Sarconi’s famous beans. 85 days to maturity.
Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 10 days before. 2 cm deep and 20 cm apart.
Germination: 99% in December 2025
