Flore Pleno atlas poppy
Papaver atlanticum
Perennial. Orange, double or semi-double flower that looks like tissue paper. Plant height 40 to 65 cm. Blooms from June to September, but more abundantly in June and July. Longevity of 3 or 4 years. Re-seeds a little. Can flower the first year with early sowing. Also known as ‘Moroccan poppy’. Native to the Atlas mountain range that crosses Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Hardiness Zone 3.
Full sun, well drained soil. Sow indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost or sow directly in early summer. Sow on the surface. 25 cm between plants.
Germination: 84% in December 2024
