Common mullein
Verbascum thapsus
Biennial. Medicinal plant. Also known as Great mullein or Wooly mullein. Downy silver leaves. Forms a long flower wand of 1 to 2.50 meters high in its 2nd year. Small yellow flowers. Re-seeds itself. Cut off flower wands before they go to seed to prevent overgrowth. Hardiness zone 4.
Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing May-June or autumn.
Germination: 75% in November 2023
