Valeriana officinalis
Perrennial. Medicinal plant. Small, pinkish-white flowers, very fragrant and edible. Blooms from mid-June to July. Attracts pollinators. 60 cm to 1.50 m high. Does not bloom the first year. Re-seeds itself. Hardiness zone 3.
Full sun to part shade. Rich, moist or dry soil. Sow indoors in April. Transplanting or direct sowing in June. Sow on the surface. 20 cm between plants.
Germination: 93% in December 2023
