Malva Sylvestris var. mauritiana
Annual (perennial grown as an annual). Mixture of purple or white flowers, veined with dark purple. Up to 1.8 m tall. Blooms from July to October. May need support. Edible leaves and flowers. Re-seeds itself. Zone 6. Sometimes survives winter in colder areas.
Full sun, part shade. Rich, well-drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 4 to 6 weeks before. 3 mm deep. 30 cm between plants.
Germination: 50% in November 2025
