Description

Tomato Maskabec
Solanum lycopersicum

Beautiful, juicy red tomato, round shape, 5 to 7 cm in diameter. Very good flavor. Resistant to cracking. Very productive, 1-meter-high plant. Developed in 1974 by Roger Doucet at the Saint-Hyacinthe Agricultural Research Station (Quebec). Determinate. 55 days.

Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost. 5 mm deep. 60 cm between plants.

Germination: 90% in November 2025
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.

Note:
Summer 2015 favorite for its speed and productivity. Ripening is fairly uniform, so if you’re growing multiple plants, expect a lot of tomatoes at once. This is one I like to use for canning juice, making V8 that tastes like heaven, or freezing in cubes to make great tomato soup in the winter.
