Description
New Mexico Hummingbird Mint
Agastache neomexicana
Biennial (or short-lived perennial). Small wands of pink flowers. 40 to 60 cm high. Strong scent of lavender and anise. Can be grown in containers. Flowers and leaves can be used as a herbal tea or seasoning. Very long-lasting bloom. Attracts pollinating insects. Very easy to grow. Easily survives winter in zone 4. Longevity of 2 or 3 years. May bloom a little the first year.
Full sun, well drained soil. Indoor sowing in early April or direct sowing in June. Depth 1 mm. 30 cm between plants. Germinates easily in less than 10 days at 18-20°C.
Germination: 70% in December 2024
