Cosmos sulphureus
Annual. Orange flowers. 1.40 metre high. Does not need a tutor. Long flowering season from July to frost. Nectariferous plant much appreciated by pollinators. Shoots, young leaves and flowers are edible.
Full sun, well-drained, poor soil (do not fertilize with nitrogen-rich fertilizers). Direct sowing after the last frost or indoors 4 to 6 weeks before. 6 mm deep. 40 cm between plants.
Germination: 80% in December 2025
