Lupinus perennis

Perennial. Purple lupins, sometimes yellow, white or pink. 60 cm to 1.20 meter high. Does not bloom the first year. Re-seeds itself. Seeds harvested during our cycling trips, on the edges of rows and cycle paths. Hardiness Zone 3.

Full sun or light shade. Well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 4 to 8 weeks before. 5 mm deep. 40 cm between plants.

Scarification necessary. Germinates in 5 to 20 days in the dark, at 18-24°C.

Germination: 90% (with scarification) by December 2025
