Bean Adzuki
Vigna angularis

Annual legume, also known as Japanese kidney bean. Plant height 30 to 90 cm. May need support. Small purple-red dried beans. Commonly used for sprouting and for Anko, the famous sweet bean paste found in mochi. Grows in the same way as bush beans. 90 days to maturity.

Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 10 days before. 2 cm deep. 20 cm between plants.
