Red Peanut bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
Half-runner dry bean. Plant of 60 cm to 1 meter in height. The pods dry by turning fluorescent red, then beige. The dry beans are red and look like small peanuts. Excellent dry bean. Also a good small, nutty-flavored snap bean when harvested young. Also called Pink Half-Runner or Old Joe Clark. 85 days to maturity.
Full sun, well drained soil. Sow directly outdoors in early June at 2 cm depth and 15 cm apart.
Germination: 98% in December 2024
