Bean Black Turtle
Phaseolus vulgaris

Dry bean. Dwarf or semi-climbing plant, depending on growing conditions. Height 55 cm to 1 metre. Delicious small black beans. Harvest fresh shell or dry. Vigorous and productive. Very old variety originating from the south of Mexico and Central America. 80 days (dry).

Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 10 days before. 2 cm deep and 15 cm apart.

Germination: 90% in December 2025
