Sweet pepper Black Horse
Capsicum annuum

Black sweet pepper, turning dark red when ripe. Between 7 and 9 cm in diameter, but can sometimes become very large. Slightly elongated square shape. Thick flesh. Excellent sweet, fruity flavor when red. Plant of 60 cm height. Early. Originally from Russia. Its Russian name is ‘Cherniy Kon’. 75 days to maturity.

Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors in early March, transplant when there is no longer any risk of frost. 40 cm between plants. 6 mm deep.

Germination: 91% in November 2025
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.

It’s already written in the description, but we’d like to say it again: the Black Horse sweet pepper has an incomparably sweet, fruity flavor. Don’t be put off by its black color when immature. When it’s red, it’s really the best!
