Carlton tomato
Solanum lycopersicum
Beautiful little red tomato, 4 to 6 cm in diameter, juicy and tasty. Plant height 1.2 metrers, good disease resistance. A heirloom variety developed in Ottawa in 1952. A cross between the Marglobe and Abel varieties. Very rare.
Sow indoors from late March to mid-April. 6 mm deep. Transplantation when there is no longer a risk of frost. 50 cm between plants. Semi-determinate. 70 days to maturity.
Germination: 94% in November 2023
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.
