Tomato Drova
Solanum lycopersicum
Italian red tomato. 6 to 9 cm. Small, very compact, 60 cm tall plant. Produces a phenomenal quantity of tomatoes. Suitable for container gardening. Early. Drova means ‘firewood’. Native to Russia. Determinate. 70 days to maturity.
Full sun, rich, well-drained soil. Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost. 5 mm deep. 50 cm between plants.
Germination: 84% in November 2025

Great producer with good flavour. Mine were a little smaller/thinner than those pictured but it was a very dry year. We also used them in salads but they were really nice in pasta sauce. I grew them on a trellis but think they would be happier with just a tomato cage or single stake. Would grow again for sauce.
