Belonging to the Porcelain group, Northern Quebec hardneck garlic forms a white bulb 3 to 6 cm in diameter with 4 to 6 large red-brown cloves per bulb. Recognized for its good hardiness and its great capacity of conservation. Its taste is rich and rather pungent. Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Planting towards the end of October (in zone 4). 3 cm deep. 10-15 cm between plants. Covering with plant mulch in autumn can help the cloves overwinter, removing the mulch in spring.
