Mullein Olympian
Verbascum olympicum
Biennial, sometimes triennial. Blooms in 2nd or 3rd year. Rosette of downy grey foliage. Majestic stalk of small yellow flowers from July to September. Long blooming period attracts a wide variety of pollinators. Up to 2 meters high and over 60 cm wide. To prevent re-seeding, cut off the flower stalks before they go to seed. Also known as Greek and Olympic mullein. Native to southern Greece and the mountains of Olympus in Turkey. Hardiness Zone 3.

Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 6 to 8 weeks before. Sow on the surface. 50 cm between plants.
