Runner bean Hestia
Phaseolus coccineus

Dwarf plant, 45 cm tall. Two-tone coral-red and white flowers. 15 cm green pods, delicious when harvested young. Hand pollination may be necessary for good pod production. A very good fresh shell or dry bean. Suitable for container gardening. The flowers are very popular with hummingbirds.

Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow directly after any risk of frost, or indoors 3 weeks before. 5 cm deep, 15 cm apart.

Germination: 99% in December 2025
