San Bernardo Blue bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
Dry bean. Climbing plant. Needs a 2.50 meter support. Small, square, dark-blue grain. Excellent fresh shell or dry. Productive. Originally from the town of San Bernardo in northern Italy. Also known as Nonna Agnès Blue. Sometimes produces slightly larger, brown beans. 90 days to maturity (dry).
Sow directly outdoors after risk of frost, 2 cm deep and 15 cm apart.
Germination: 90% in December 2024
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.
