Solanum sisymbrifolium

Annual. Large plant, 1.50 m high and 1 m wide, covered with thorns. Also known as Litchi tomato. Fruits 3 cm in diameter, edible when red. Late ripening. Unique flavor. White flowers are very attractive to pollinating insects. Blooms from July to frost. Resistant to the first light frosts.

Sow indoors in early April. 3 mm deep. Transplant at least 1 week after the last frost date. Acclimatize plants well. 60 cm apart. Sometimes needs a tutor.

Germination: 75% in November 2023
