Onion Robelja
Allium cepa

Dark red onion. 6 to 9 cm in diameter. Red rings all the way to the heart. Moderately spicy with excellent flavor. A beautiful storing variety.

Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors in February, March. Transplant early, up to 1 month before the last frost. 6 mm deep. 20 cm between plants.

Germination: 92% in December 2025

Looking for an unusual red onion to add to our catalog, we chose Robelja after testing several varieties in 2023. With its excellent shelf life for a red onion, we also preferred it because it was the darkest in our trial. Robelja is widely distributed in Europe but completely unknown in North America.
