Note
The Early Frosty pea is a variety we sold in 2021 and 2022, until we realized that the variety description didn’t match what our seeds were producing. Our plants were of varying heights, as were the pods, and that’s exactly what we liked: the lack of uniformity spread out production over time, and with a single envelope you could eat peas over a longer period. If that’s what you’re looking for, this pea is now available under the name Shelling peas blend.

In 2024, Early Frosty peas were grown from 3 different sources to find the ‘true’ variety, i.e. uniform plants 75 cm tall with concentrated production over time. One of the 3 sources produced plants 1.20 m tall, which were eliminated before flowering to preserve the purity of the other 2 sources.
