Poppy Swan’s Down
Papaver somniferum var. laciniatum
Annual. Large, white pompom-like flowers. Plants grow from 60 cm to 1.20 m tall and sometimes need support. Edible seeds. A magnificent old variety dating back to the 1760s.
Full sun. Well drained soil. Sow successively every 3 weeks from May to July. Multicell sowing possible 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting. 1 mm deep. 25 cm between plants.
Germination: 75% in December 2025 (without stratification)
