Description
Scarlet sage
Salvia coccinea
Annual. Perennial in warmer climates (hardiness zone 8). Large, bushy plant that needs no support. 1 to 1.50 meters high. Small red flowers much appreciated by bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Blooms from July to frost. Makes beautiful cut flowers. Undemanding plant, easy to grow. Deer-resistant.
Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 6 to 10 weeks before. Sow on the surface. 30 cm between plants.
Germination: 80% in November 2024
