Bean Red Peanut
Phaseolus vulgaris
Dry bean. Bush or semi-climbing plant, depending on growing conditions. Plant of 60 cm to 1 meter in height. The pods dry by turning fluorescent red, then beige. The dry beans are red and look like small peanuts. Excellent dry bean. Also a good small, nutty-flavored snap bean when harvested young. Also called Pink Half-Runner or Old Joe Clark. 85 days to maturity (dry).
Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 10 days before. 2 cm deep and 15 cm apart.
Germination: 98% in December 2025
