Eggplant Turkish Orange
Solanum aethiopicum

Small, round eggplant, 5 to 7 cm in diameter. Green in color, it turns orange-red when ripe. Harvest when green to pale orange. Tasty flesh, sweeter than other eggplants. Productive plant of 60 cm. An ancient variety from Turkey. Well-suited to growing in hardiness zone 4. Winner at the Les Exceptionnelles 2021 contest. 80 days.

Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors 10 to 14 weeks before the last frost. Transplant when temperature is above 10°C. Requires heat for germination, ±30 °C. 6 mm deep. 60 cm between plants.
