Basil Holy (Tulsi)
Ocimum sanctum
Annual. A highly fragrant medicinal plant native to India. Fresh leaves are used in infusions. Spikes of small pink flowers. 30 to 50 cm high. Grows well in pots.
Full sun to part shade. Well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors at the end of April and transplant when there is no longer any risk of frost. Sow on the surface. 30 cm between plants.
Germination: 86% in December 2025
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.
