Description

Coneflower Joly-Camille
Echinacea purpurea

Perennial. Flowers of various colors and sizes. Pink, red, orange, yellow or white. 1 metre to 1.20 metres high. Blooms from late July to frost. Does not flower the first year, or very little. A unique blend created by Daniel Fortin, a horticulturist by trade who has been passionate about echinaceas for the past ten years.

Full sun. Well-drained, rich soil, but tolerates poor soils. Well-drained soil is very important for longevity. Direct sowing in May, June or indoor sowing in early April. 2 mm deep, 30 cm between plants. Hardiness Zone 3.

Germination: 80% in January 2026
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.

Note
Daniel Fortin gave us seeds in 2022 when we met at Domaine Joly-de-Lotbinière on opening day. His aim with this cross was to create a very hardy, reproducible echinacea with a wide range of colors and shapes. The name Joly-Camille comes from the Domaine Joly, where he volunteered for several years, and from his daughter Camille’s name.
