Thymus vulgaris
Condimentary and medicinal plant. Also called English thyme or German Winter. Plant of 30 cm in height. Small pink flowers, melliferous. Grows well in container. Survives winter well into hardiness zone 3.
Full sun to part shade. Well drained soil. Sow indoors in early April. Transplant after any risk of frost. Sow on the surface. 20 cm between plants. Slow germination, 15 to 30 days at 18-20 ºC
Germination: 71% in January 2025
