Bean Selma Zebra
Phaseolus vulgaris
Snap pole bean, green streaked with mauve, stringless, 15 cm long. Need a 2.50-meter support. A heirloom variety from Switzerland, renowned for its excellent flavour and productivity. 70 days to maturity.
Sow directly outdoors in early June, 2 cm deep and 15 cm apart.
Germination: 99% in December 2025
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.
Note
We’ve had the Selma Zebra bean in our catalog for at least 10 years. In 2025, we decided to compare it once again with the very popular Rattlesnake bean. We found that the string develops much later in Selma Zebra. It served as a little reminder of why we love it so much!
