Strawberry Crown Squash
Cucurbita maxima

Winter squash, round, flattened, sometimes ribbed, green-gray in color, turning pinkish brown and finally orange. 25 to 45 cm in diameter. Flesh not fibrous, good taste. Productive and early. Creeping plant of 2 to 3 meters in length. 90 days to maturity.

Full sun, rich soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 2 to 5 weeks before. Protect young plants from insects. 2 cm deep. 60 cm between plants.
