Tanya’s Pink Pod bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
Bush bean, 50 cm high. Beige-pink seed, very good fresh shell or dry. Also an excellent snap when harvested young. The pods are a unique pink-green color. They turn green when cooked. Discovered by an employee called Tanya, in a row of “Sequoia” beans from a British Columbia seed company (Salt Springs Seed Company). 60 days to maturity (snap), 90 days (dry).
Direct sowing at the beginning of June at 2 cm depth. 15 cm between plants.
Germination: 99% in November 2023
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.
