Description

Bean Voletta
Phaseolus vulgaris

Yellow bush bean, round, straight and fine, stringless, 15 cm long. Snap filet type. Very good flavor. Remains crunchy when cooked. Well suited for freezing. Productive plant of 50 cm height. Great resistance to diseases.

Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 10 days before. 2 cm deep. 15 cm between plants.

Germination: 97% in December 2025
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.

Note
A beautiful variety found at Baumaux in 2012. The Voletta bean is very similar to the Beurre de Rocquencourt. The main difference I’ve found between the two is that Voletta always produces beautiful, straight pods, unlike Beurre de Rocquencourt, which is often a little twisted towards the end.

It is said to be an improvement on the Wachs Beste von Allen variety , an old Swiss variety found only on a few German-language sites.

En 2023, j’ai adoré ces haricots. Longue et belle récolte de bons haricots effilés et sans fil. A refaire c’est certain.
