Ice bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
Semi-runner bean. Small, unique green-white beans, 5 to 6 cm long, round and curved. Juicy and crunchy when raw. Develops a string quickly, to be harvested very young. Small white seed. An excellent dry bean that shells easily. Plant up to 1 metre in height, sometimes more or less. Height depends on growing conditions. Heirloom variety (1845). 50 days to maturity (90 days dry).
Full sun, well drained soil. Direct sowing after the last frost or indoor sowing 10 days before. 2 cm deep. 15 cm between plants.
Germination: 84% in December 2024
