Description
Arugula
Eruca vesicaria var. sativa
Annual. 25 cm high and 60 cm with flower stems. The leaves are used fresh in salads or cooked like spinach. The flowers are edible and the seeds are used as a condiment. Peppery flavour reminiscent of hazelnuts.
Arugula prefers full sun, but tolerates shade quite well. A shady spot will help slow down bolting. Humus-rich soil. Mulch recommended. Direct sowing 6 mm deep, May to September. 15 cm between plants. Successive sowings every 3 weeks.
Germination: 95% in November 2023
