Chioggia beet
Beta vulgaris

Dark pink beet with red flesh striped with white. Sweet and tasty. Does not stain. Early. To harvest small or large. Excellent flavor even when large. Can be kept for a long time in the refrigerator or in a cold room. Variety of Italian heritage.

Full sun, rich and well drained soil. Direct seeding from mid-May to July. 2 cm deep and 15 cm apart. Thin out after germination. 60-100 days to maturity.
