Lactuca sativa

Superb batavia lettuce. Wavy leaves give it the appearance of cabbage. Good flavor and crisp texture. Slow to set seed. An old variety from England. Also known as Webb’s Wonderful.

Full sun, part shade. Well drained soil. Indoor sowing in April or direct sowing from May. Sow in August for a fall harvest. 6 mm deep. 30 cm between plants.

Germination: 96% in November 2025
