Hot pepper Hot Banana
Capsicum annuum
Hot pepper. Yellow becoming orange and then red. 12 to 15 cm long. Medium-thick flesh and thin skin. Ideal for making pickled hot peppers. Heat rating of 6 on the Scoville scale. Very productive plant. 60 cm tall plant. Need support. Similar to Hungarian Hot Wax pepper. 60 days to maturity.
Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors 8 to 12 weeks before the last frost. Transplant when temperature is above 10°C. 6 mm deep. 40 cm between plants. Germinates in 7 to 10 days at 28-30°C.
Germination: 73% in November 2025

Found at Atlantic Pepper seeds in 2020 and we’ve been producing it ever since. It’s quite strong, so to make pickled peppers, I mix it half and half with Sweet banana sweet pepper.
