Hot pepper Jalapeno Jaloro
Capsicum annuum
Conical hot pepper, 8 cm long. Pale yellow, turning orange, then red at maturity. Can be eaten at any stage. Heat rating of 5 on the Scoville scale. Plant of 60 to 90 cm height. Suitable for container gardening and aeroponics. Very productive. Variety created in 1992 in Texas, USA. 65 days (yellow), 90 days (red).
Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors 8 to 12 weeks before the last frost. Transplant when temperature is above 10°C. 6 mm deep. 40 cm between plants. Germinates in 7 to 10 days at 28-30°C.
Germination: 93% in November 2025
