Onion Keravel
Allium cepa
Onion with white, slightly pink flesh. Raw, it is crisp, juicy and moderately spicy. Once cooked, it is soft and fruity. More or less 8 cm in diameter. Good conservation. Heirloom variety. Specialty of the region of Roscoff, in Brittany. The Keravel onion is used to produce the Oignon de Roscoff. Oignon de Roscoff is a controlled appellation since 2009. Also called Rosé d’Armorique or Rosé de Bretagne.
Full sun, well drained and rich soil. Sow indoors in February, March. Transplant early, up to 1 month before the last frost. 6 mm deep. 20 cm between plants.
Germination: 92% in November 2024
