Note
In our zone 4, we often tend to prefer early varieties to make sure they have time to ripen. The Trifecta melon caught our eye not for its earliness, but for its resistance to downy mildew. During the 2025 season, we started harvesting it at the beginning of September, when Gnadenfeld, Ha’Ogen and Tip Top had already produced all they had to offer. Its resistance adds a kind of “crop insurance”, if you like. This makes it a very nice variety to complement the early varieties and extend the pleasure. We were able to enjoy it for 3 weeks, until the first ground frost arrived on September 18th.
