Note
I found the Napoleon Sweet pepper at Seed Savers in 2012 and it’s been in the catalog since 2013. To eat raw it’s not the sweetest, but it’s still very good, meaty and juicy. Early enough for almost all peppers to turn red before October. And very productive, ideal for large late-season harvests for freezing or making spaghetti sauce. I love its size and elongated shape, which makes it easy to seed and cut.
We’ve always grown it in sandy soil without irrigation, sometimes even without support, as can be seen in my photos from 2016… It’s a hardy, reliable variety that will produce even when conditions aren’t optimal. With a little love, your plants will grow to 4 feet tall and produce even more!
