Description

Squash Miranda
Cucurbita pepo

Naked seed squash from 9 to 12 pounds. Creeping plant of 1.50 meter. 3 to 4 squashes per plant. Light green, turning orange at maturity. The seeds are very large and have a sweet, nutty flavor. Allow squash to age until at least November before opening. The flesh is edible, but not interesting.

Full sun, well-drained, rich soil. Direct sowing not recommended. Sow in individual pots 2 to 5 weeks before transplanting. 1 cm deep. 60 cm between plants.

Germination: 95% in December 2025
Ecological seeds produced at Catherine’s Ornamental Garden.

Note
We can find little information on this pumpkin. For the moment, its history remains a mystery. We found the seeds in Germany and grew it for the first time in 2024. The plants are creeping, but not as huge as other varieties. Most of the squash turned orange in the field, and those that were still green turned orange shortly after harvest. They keep very well.
